While Chris, Gabriel and I vacation in Minneapolis, I will be blog free. We are visiting some friends. And I might even update their boys portraits. We'll see.

One on the Way

A couple weeks ago I photographed Kelly and her husband Mike as they expect their first child. They have decided not to find out what they are going to have, but they have decided to decorate the nursery with this portrait (along with their bedroom wall).

Robert Jordan Passes Away

One of my husband's favorite authors passed away this week. Robert Jordan wrote fantasy novels, in particular, the "Wheel of Time" series. That series came down with one book left to finish it out. We are hoping that someone will take up where Jordan left off and give the story its "The End". If you enjoy fantasy novels, Chris would highly suggest these. You can get them at Amazon.com (there are 11 in the series plus a prequel).

Birthday Week

This is a crazy week in the Crowley household. This week, my dad, mom, husband, son and sister all have a birthday. Luckily my family is coming in to town on Thursday to help celebrate. We are planning a great time, and I'm going to have dad redo my portrait. I have some new poses and locations I want to try out. Fun stuff. It's great to play around.

Earlier this month I photographed the Hood boys. We had so much fun and it was great being around a little baby. Fun, fun, fun!

Cortez Colorfest

It is the one year anniversary of NGC Photography! Yeah!

Twins!

Out in our country twins don't happen very often (because there aren't a ton of people). So I was lucky to get to photograph Taylor and Hannah last week. These two girls, now at two months old, are beautiful. I can't wait to watch them grow up.

Betty & Jim

I met Betty and Jim last April at the Cortez Home and Garden Show. They are a wonderful couple whose company I truly enjoy. They have now been married 48 years!
And on a side note, Betty is teaching me to knit. More on knitting in future posts.

Gabriel - Three Years Old

Gabriel turns three this month! I can't wait. This morning we did his yearly portraits. I was having fun today "grunging-it-up".

I love profiles of little ones. Their noses are always so cute and they look like the are intently looking at something important. I think Tessa looks very different from this portrait to the last. All children have many different sides to them. It is a photographer's job to try to capture those different sides to help parents remember all the little details of their sweet one.

I'm looking to take my children's photography in a different direction. As you can see in this beautiful portrait of Tessa, there is a strong emphasis on expressive eyes and a shallow depth of field. I want my images to pop of the computer or off the page and hope that they are extremely recognizable. Over the rest of this week, I'll have additional images of Tessa all with this new style.

Season 3 of the Office

Just picked up season 3 of the Office today. I actually bought it for Chris for his birthday later this month, but I think he'll get it a little early. This is probably the best season yet. Lots of great laughs.
Tomorrow, I'll have some beautiful portraits of Tessa. Got to get to work retouching.
